About the Role

MCi Career Services is seeking a dedicated Safety Officer to join their team in Tuas West. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute to workplace safety while enjoying competitive compensation and benefits.

Key Responsibilities

1. Policy Development:

• Create comprehensive safety policies and HSSE Plant standards in compliance with Singaporean laws, Air Liquide safety policies, and customer safety requirements.

2. Risk Assessment:

• Develop or review risk assessments to identify potential workplace hazards.
• Inspect equipment, workspaces, and practices to ensure safety compliance.

3. Safety Training:

• Organize and conduct safety training programs, including site safety orientations.
• Ensure training aligns with local regulations and Air Liquide standards.

4. Accident Investigation:

• Investigate workplace accidents to determine causes and prevent future incidents.
• Maintain detailed records and report incidents to relevant authorities.

5. Emergency Preparedness:

• Design and implement emergency procedures such as fire drills and evacuation plans.
• Ensure employees are familiar with procedures and emergency equipment is in good condition.

6. Workplace Health Programs:

• Promote ergonomic assessments and wellness initiatives to prevent occupational illnesses.

7. External Liaison:

• Collaborate with regulatory authorities and external auditors on compliance issues.
• Coordinate with safety consultants and corporate representatives as needed.

8. Compliance Monitoring:

• Stay updated on changes to health and safety laws in Singapore.
• Advise management on necessary updates to ensure compliance.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

• Certified MOM Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO).
• Physically fit to work at construction sites.
• BCSS and WAH Supervisor Certificates are advantageous.

Skills Needed:

• Regulatory Knowledge: Expertise in Singapore’s Workplace Safety and Health Act.
• Analytical Skills: Ability to identify hazards and recommend solutions.
• Communication Skills: Strong ability to train employees, liaise with external parties, and report findings effectively.
• Detail-Oriented: Precision in safety inspections and record-keeping.
• Technical Proficiency: Skilled in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and Google Suite applications.
