Are you passionate about combating corruption and making a global impact? This is your chance! The United Nations is inviting young people to participate in an Essay Writing Competition, offering a unique opportunity to share your ideas on how to tackle one of the world’s most pressing issues. Winners will have the chance to win a fully-funded trip to Austria and contribute to the global fight against corruption.

The Global Resource for Anti-Corruption Education and Youth Empowerment (GRACE) is thrilled to announce an international online essay competition focused on Integrity, Ethics, and Anti-Corruption. This competition encourages young minds to explore creative solutions to the challenges of corruption and make a meaningful contribution to the global discourse on this critical issue.

Why Participate?

This competition is an invitation for young people passionate about preventing corruption to submit an essay that explores how corruption impacts them, their families, or their communities. Participants will also discuss what civil society in their region is doing to combat and prevent corruption. By taking part in this competition, you’ll be joining a pioneering group of young people working to implement the recently launched “Roadmap to Strengthening the Role of Nongovernmental Actors in the Fight Against Corruption,” which was presented to the UN Convention Against Corruption in December 2023.
Winners from each region will be invited to a youth anti-corruption workshop in Vienna, Austria, where they’ll meet young leaders from around the world to discuss the role of youth in preventing corruption and share ideas on the best ways to implement the roadmap. Topics will include supporting victims of corruption, encouraging youth participation in decision-making, strengthening youth involvement in anti-corruption initiatives, and more.
